Our Story
We’re Jackie Buchwald and Cindy Matias — partners in life and in business — and we created On the Rocks and Road to bring fun, personalized, and professional bar experiences to weddings, private parties, corporate events and celebrations of all kinds. As a small, women-owned local business, we take pride in treating every event as if it were our own, creating moments that are memorable, seamless, and uniquely tailored to our clients.

Between us, we’ve spent years in the catering industry doing just about everything: from bussing and serving to setting up bars in many different locations, bartending, as well as managing large teams at weddings and events. Those experiences gave us the skills and the passion to build a bar service that’s more than just drinks. Jackie’s background in floral design inspires her eye for detail and her love of creating barscapes and other specialty drink displays that enhance the overall event decor, while Cindy’s Dominican heritage and bilingual services allow us to connect with a wide range of guests. Together, we thrive behind the bar, crafting cocktails, meeting new people, and helping to create celebrations that feel effortless, elevated, and memorable.
